I finally took the boys to see santa 3 days before Christmas in the pouring rain. Don't know what I was thinking. We stood in line for 45 minutes. Just as we got up to the front, Ethan runs under the rope to see Santa while some other kid was sitting with him. I had to crawl under the rope to pull him back. When it was finally our turn both the boys run straight up to Santa with excitement. As you can see that didn't last long with Ethan. As soon as I put him next to him, Ethan lost it. Oh and I apologize for the quality of the picture. They let me take one with my phone, but I had to be quick.

I snuck another quick one. Not great, but still cute. As Noah was trying to think of what he wanted for Christmas, he kept saying umm....and picking his nose. Fabulous!

Ethan's name should be "Linus" (from Charlie Brown). That blanket is never far from him. If you didn't notice the first time, he also had it in the Santa picture.

He looks so grown up in this one. :(

We had 3 different Christmas'. The first one from Noni and Popi on Friday night, then Christmas Eve was Oma and Opa and Christmas Day was Santa presents (ours). Talk about toy overload. Wow!

He was pretty excited about his Cars 2 remote control airplane.

Noah got Wall-E. He loves Wall-E. Ethan calls it Wa-We. :)

I loved the boys school pictures this year. They turned out to be so cute. I didn't plan for the jean jacket to go on Ethan, but his teacher got confused and put it on him instead. Oh well, they still look adorable!

Thanksgiving TX Style

We had such beautiful weather while we were there, so we tried to play outdoors as much as possible.

Ethan's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated Ethan's 2nd birthday last Friday. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. :( We started off by having a play date at Jumper's Playhouse with his friend Jackson.

Ethan was a little ticked because I took something away from him.

Kids World Halloween Party

We were heading out the door to go Trick or Treating with Benny and after we shut the door, Josh looked at me and said "Do you have the keys?" Perfect timing. Both cars were locked and the spare house key was in the van, along with the boys costumes. This was turning out to be a bad night. Luckily Josh found a lock smith that was just down the street and $125 later he got our van open. So we hurried over to Benny's before all the candy ran out.

Noah was not shy about yelling Trick or Treat at each door. He wanted to make sure they knew he was there.

On to the next house.

This was Ethan's first year to really trick or treat. It didn't take him long to get the hang of it. A couple of houses had their lights on, but no one answered and Ethan would get really ticked when we would walk away with no candy. Can you blame him?

He looked like such a big boy walking door to door with his bucket.

There were a couple of creepy houses that Benny was scared of and he wanted to hold Noah's hand. So sweet.

We got enough sugar for the night, so time to head home.

Fall Fun

The boys got to carve their pumpkins for the 1st time this morning (well...more like watch mommy and daddy carve them). Noah did help me with some of it.

I can't believe it's already that time of year again. I feel like we were just at the pumpkin patch, but yet Ethan couldn't even walk last time we went. This year he was all over the place. It was almost impossible to get pictures of him. It was much easier last year when I could just plop him down amongst the pumpkins and take as many pictures as I wanted.

He liked watching the goats, but didn't want to get too close.

I bought the boys some Mickey Mouse sunglasses for $1 and they loved them. They were checking themselves out in the mirror and carrying on a conversation with each other. Don't worry, you're not the only one who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. It must be secret code talk. ;)

I was working on a little photography project and the boys were doing their thing. They were marching around the cul de sac like they were in a parade. It was quite cute.

A Weekend in Michigan

We decided to go see Grandma & Grandpa LaFave for Labor Day weekend. We also thought it would be best to drive through the night in hopes that the boys would sleep most of the way there. Quite the opposite actually. Ethan slept maybe an hour total and then got really wired up at 2 in the morning. He was having himself a party in the back seat and then woke Noah up. It was a long night!

We headed home Monday morning and the boys did great. Thank God for DVD players and Toy Story. Buzz and Woody saved us from going crazy. On one of our stops to get gas, go potty and stretch our legs, I was craving some munchies. Funyuns sounded really good to me and of course, the boys helped me eat them. Well...not such a great idea. About 30 minutes away from home, Noah starts crying and acting funny. I jumped in the back with him and grabbed the only thing I could find...Ethan's rubber bib that had a pocket to catch food. Well this time it was catching throw up. I guess between riding in the car and the funyuns, Noah's tummy didn't agree. We pulled over on the highway to get him cleaned up and he said he was much better. Not long after we got home, I was in the bathroom with Noah and Ethan runs in and pukes all over the floor. Needless to say, we won't be eating funyuns for a very long time. :b

All that to say...we had a great time in Michigan!

We wanted to kill some time before dinner one night, so we took the boys to see an old train.

On our way home we stopped in South Bend, Indiana to see some friends. The boys got to play with their daughter Susanna.

The boys each have a pair of Lightning McQueen slippers and Ethan had Noah's on, which looked like boats on his feet.

When Noah saw me taking pictures of Ethan, he had to put Ethan's slippers on.

Ethan liked walking around the house with the slippers and watching his feet as he walked. Josh and I were sitting in the living room and Ethan would walk in, turn around and go back down the hall way. Every time he would head back down the hall he would yell to us "BYE! See you!" and blow us a kiss.

Noah's 1st Field Trip

Noah got to go on his first field trip with Mother's Day out to the Discovery Center. He was pretty excited to go with his best friend Benny.

A Visit to TX to see Noni & Popi

Last week the boys and I went to visit Noni & Popi in TX. The boys did great on both plane rides and behaved themselves. Thank God for portable DVD players and Toy Story! We had a great time with my family and even got to see my aunt and uncle and some cousins.

Noah loves to carry his own suitcase. I think he likes to feel like a big boy.

He was soooo excited to go on a plane ride.

The Nashville airport has a play area right by the gates. Best idea ever!

I think Noah might be a pilot some day.

4th of July Weekend With Oma & Opa

We took the boys out to the mall with Oma and Opa in hopes to do build a bear, but Noah was in a mood so that never happened. Instead he got some new tennis shoes that he was pretty excited about. They needed a little break from shopping and so we played on the playground for a little bit.

They had to ride the hot dog mobile.

The Chick-Fil-A cow was walking around the food court and Noah wanted to give him a hug. By the time he came over he was too scared, but settled for a high five instead.

We needed to get the boys out of the house and burn some energy. So we took them to Monkey Joe's. They had a blast.

Happy 4th of July!!

We had plans to go see some professional fireworks, but after loading our blanket, chairs, food and the boys up, we barely made it to the end of our street and the van decided to stop working. Daddy saved the day and bought some fireworks of our own.

Noah is so excited and Ethan is just not impressed.

Every time one firework was done, Noah would run to get another one and say "try again Daddy!".

Play Dates

We had a play date with Benny the other day at a place called Monkey Joe's. They had video games, cars, and lots of bounce houses. They went crazy in there, but that was the point I guess. I was worn out afterwards.

The quality of these pics are pretty bad, but I was using my phone.

Ethan was pretty content just to sit in the car, but then I put a quarter in and he grabbed on for dear life. His face says "Get me out of here!", but he wouldn't stay away from it after that.

I'm terrified of the day this becomes reality!

Notice Noah is doing the "I gotta pee really bad" stance, but he was to distracted.

That mallet weighed as much as he did.

The Zoo Train

The Zoo finally opened up their new train ride and so we had to go try it out. The boys were pretty excited about it.

The boys and I were outside playing today with colored bubbles and squirt guns. Ethan had smeared blue and green bubbles all over his face and so I ran inside to get my camera. By the time I came back out, he had washed most of it off. I was disappointed, but then they started having some fun of their own. Who knew a bowl of water could be so much fun?

He must be in deep thought about something.

Noah's friend Clay turned 5 and had his party at the Discovery Center. Ethan was going to come, but desperately needed a nap instead.

TN Air Show

We took the boys to see the TN Air Show a couple of weekends ago. We really had no idea what time it was suppose to start and got there an hour and a half early. They did pretty well staying entertained and patient. Not long after it finally got started we had to leave. We were all getting hungry, needed potty breaks and naps, but what we did get to see was really cool.

Crackers...check. Juice...check. Now all we need is some planes to start flying.

Ethan really enjoyed it too.

These were actually taken from our house. After we had to leave the big boys came out. The USAF Thunderbirds. They're my favorite. It's crazy how fast and loud they were.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. We had a second egg hunt on Saturday morning and then took the boys to the park. After church on Sunday, the Easter bunny dropped off some goodies.

Kids World Easter Program 2011

Well once again Noah was quite a character in the Easter program. He loves to perform for an audience. This was Ethan' s 1st time to participate. His class wasn't too exciting, but I was proud of him for sitting on the stage almost the whole time. After the program we had a big lunch with the parents and then an egg hunt.

Ethan's Surgery Day

Ethan is following in his Daddy's footsteps and had to get tubes put in his ears last Friday. He got an ear infection back in December and has had fluid in them ever since. He failed his hearing tests in both ears, so they said it was time for tubes. He did really well with the surgery and seems to have better balance when he's walking now and is picking up on words easier.

The nurse brought in a Buzz Lightyear for each of the boys to play with while we waited.

He was a bit crabby when he woke up from the anesthesia, but when we got home he had some milk and then was good to go like nothing ever happened.

We have officially joined the mini van club. I never thought I would be in it, but it has happened. I gotta say, I love it! It is definitely designed with kids in mind. It has a DVD player in it, which I try not to make a habit of using it every time we get in the car, but it comes in handy if you're stuck in traffic or taking a road trip. A Night in the ER

We had our first trip to the ER Saturday night. Noah was running around the house and tripped. He landed right on the corner of where the base boards come together. At first we didn't notice anything until the blood came running down his face. I decided to go ahead and take him to the ER just to be safe. They said they could glue it together rather than doing stitches and said it was less traumatic. I agreed. Noah was loving every bit of special attention he was getting. He showed everyone at the hospital his boo boo and talked their ears off. Thankfully this trip was very minor, but I fear we will be making more trips to the ER in the future.

He was having fun with the TV remote and accidently called the nurses station twice.

He was so brave when she glued his boo boo, so he got a grape popsicle at 10:00 pm. I couldn't say no.

Today was absolutely gorgeous. We have had the worst spring fever ever and we totally took advantage of the sunshine. In fact, we got this buggy for Ethan at Christmas and this is the first time he's gotten to use it. Merry Christmas Ethan!

Noah's Birthday Present

Just having Ethan's birthday and Christmas, we decided Noah didn't need any more toys and we didn't have the room for them. Instead, me, Josh, Noni, Popi, Oma. Opa, Grandma & Grandpa all chipped in and got Noah a Power Wheels Jeep. I'm pretty sure he loves it.

Noah's 3rd Birthday

Uncle Jeffrey called all the way from Switzerland to wish him happy birthday.

We went out to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner and the waitress announced to the whole restaurant that it was his birthday. Not sure why he's making this face.

He got his very own bucket of ice cream.

Someone is turning 3 this Friday!!! I can't believe it. Time is flying way too fast. Noah started running a fever last night for no apparent reason. He just got over the flu a couple of weeks ago, so I hope it's not that again. He doesn't really have any other symptoms, so hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug. His party is this Saturday. Say a prayer for him to get better before then. I'll be posting party pictures next Saturday, so check back soon.

Zoo Day

It's finally been nice enough outside to go to the zoo again. This winter has been brutal and we're tired of staying in the house all the time. It was a perfect day to see the animals. Noah and Benny are best buds and just love having play dates.

The elephants were actually playing a little bit today.

They were parched and had to take a break.

This was cute and fun until Benny face planted into the concrete. He had a huge, nasty goose egg on his forehead. The poor guy was having a rough day with boo boos.

We love the meerkats. So friendly.

Noah spotted some fish in the pond through the cracks.

We had a play date with our friends Amanda and Benny at an indoor playground. We've had so much snow this year and I think we are all getting cabin fever. We desperately needed to get out and have some fun.

Right after we took these pictures, Josh set Ethan down and he decided to just take off. He took 3 steps the first time and then up to 6 soon after. It was a pretty exciting night for us. And he's off! I think the toy in each hand helps him balance.

We got more snow and quit a bit too. Ethan has been trying to get over an ear infection and cold for the past month now, so he didn't get to come out and play. I think Noah enjoyed it though.

Josh didn't go into work that day either so he got to play with us.

Poor Sophie has to freeze her rear end off every time she has to go potty.

We had a great Christmas this year and I think the boys are now spoiled rotten. Santa was very good to them. Each year is getting more and more exciting as Noah is getting excited about it. He's getting the hang of Santa Claus and definitely knows what presents are.

Well we have now had our 2nd Christmas for the month and still 2 to go. These boys are getting spoiled. Josh's mom and step-dad (Oma & Opa) came down this weekend from Denver (where they are use to snow), but yet Nashville was having worse weather. We all had a great time anyways.
