Excellent book that puts a human face as it may on an issue(s) that are often times pushed to the back of the junk pile, or at times pushed onto an unsuspecting or uncaring public or private organization i.e. (police department, fire departments). It's well written and I can say "Figen cares". It comes out her chat conversations, I've had with her, I purchased one of her "Teddys", this lead to our having several"chats" "across the pond" about life and its issues. Trite, dangerous advice from an amateur. No professional psychologist would EVER give advice without getting to know her patent. Murray's pop psychological stories are childish and useless at best, and possibly very dangerous to people actually suffering from emotional imbalance. Clearly she was given a platform to flog her bears (made in China) that is *way* beyond her ability. The book "Bears Have Issues Too" is rife with spelling errors, poor sentence structure (making it very difficult to read), and a view of the world that is decidedly adolescent. If Murray is not currently seeing a professional counselor, I advise her to RUN not walk and get some badly needed intervention.
This book is adorable, informative and approachable. I highly recommend it - you can even get your own teddy bear at Figen's Depop shop ❤
Like most people, I learned of Figen's bears through her son's tweet. This book starts where the news articles and tweets left off. We learn of what went on behind the scenes during all the hullabaloo. It then delves into short stories about different bears and their mental health gripes. I found that Isla's and Trevor's stories resonated with me the most. It's an easy read that will leave you with a smile.
